Description

This service is for artists who feel they are finished with the writing stage of their productions and have succeeded in the mixing process but are looking to improve their project even further. It’s important that you are satisfied with how your mix has turned out. ‘Stem’ mixing is purely an enhancing process and fixing major problems in the mix will not be possible with this service. Unlike the Mixdown Service with Master, you will be required to leave all effects and processing on your sounds apart from a compressor side-chained to the kick drum on your bass track.

You will need to solo a selection of tracks when bouncing to audio. When bouncing, be sure to leave at least a bar or two of dead space at the beginning of each track. If you start the bounce exactly when the music starts (e.g. on the first beat), some DAWs (Ableton can be prone to this) can sometimes leave a couple of samples out as the mix engine kicks in.

*Please ensure no clipping occurs on any track before bouncing.

Solo and bounce these sections:
1. Kick Drum
2. Bass
3. Main Clap and/or Snare
4. Tops (Hi-Hats, Shakers, Cymbals etc.)
5. Percussion (Bongos, Snare Drum fills, etc)
6. FX
7. Synths
8. Pads
9. Lead Vocal
10. Backing Vocals

*Not all projects will contain these exact components. Please feel free to contact me if you’re struggling with separating and grouping these sections.

When sending your music, place all your files in a folder and then compress that folder into a .zip file. Zipped (compressed) files take up less storage space and can be transferred to other computers more quickly than uncompressed files. Combine several files into a single zipped folder to more easily share a group of files.

*Also, please be sure to name all your files clearly. This will massively speed up the process.

Windows:

1. Locate the file or folder that you want to zip.
Press and hold (or right-click) the file or folder, select (or point to) Send to, and then select Compressed (zipped) folder.

2. A new zipped folder with the same name is created in the same location. To rename it, press and hold (or right-click) the folder, select Rename, and then type the new name.

Mac:

1. Locate the items to zip in the Mac Finder (file system).

2. Right-click on a file, folder, or files you want to zip.

3. Select “Compress Items”.

4. Find the newly created .zip archive in the same directory.

Within this .zip file please include a mixed version of your project as a single .wav file with all original effects left on (turn off normalizing and dithering). This will act as a reference and give me an idea of how you wanted your song to sound.

Once you have your compressed .zip file ready, please upload it to WeTransfer (https://wetransfer.com) or another file hosting website and enter the download link in the form at the top of this page.

Upon completion, you will recieve:

1. .wav Premaster

2. .wav Master

3. Advice on how you can improve your next track.
